Sloppy Brothers is an Adobe Photoshop JavaScript utility that adds sloppy borders around your photos or artwork.
In the analog world, sloppy borders were created by filing out the negative carrier from an enlarger. The negative was printed full-frame and combined with the filed out carrier resulted in an irregular, rough and grungy edge around the print.
Although the script uses Adobe Photoshop built-in functions and parameters, it’s a modular and time-saving utility that would cost you otherwise hours of repetitive actions. Productivity boost guaranteed.
Sloppy Brothers is by far not a complete frame extravagance like other plug-ins but if you’re looking for a subtle black border around your artwork you can get it fast and easy.
Custom width and styles
Border width is adjustable from petite (1 pixel) to extra fat (25 pixels). There are also 8 shapes and 2 styles to choose from.
Minimal image crop
The borders are added to the sides of your image with a minimal overlap between border and image.
Non-destructive
Sloppy borders are created in a separate layer. The artwork stays untouched and transparency is preserved.
Resolution independent
Unlike other plug-ins, sloppy borders are generated each time from scratch and in the output resolution of the source document. No more blurry borders due to limited resolution border files.
Adobe Photoshop CS* or Adobe Photoshop CS2
* Due to JavaScript engine limitations, the CS version presents a slimmed down interface but the borders it produces are exactly the same.
